oh wow, I feel your pain. I gained almost 20 lbs over the last year, and I don't think it's worse eating, I just don't have time to work out : ( I work fulltime and go to school, I just can't study well while doing cardio, so studying usually gets my spare time. when I am doing what I should do, I will get my work and school schedule and write in a time to work out, and keep it like it is an appointment that has to be kept. its really hard though to be disciplined when you just don't have any spare time and when you have a little you just want to relax. I also try to walk on my half hour break at work, I can get in a mile and a half on my break.
References :
All you really need to do is dedicate at least 30 minutes 5-6 times a week for a workout. Even simple things like walking, running, swimming, biking or home aerobics are good enough. Just keep eating healthy and set aside 30 minutes for workout, and you'll be great.
References :
Brother was a personal trainer

it realy doesnt matter if you lift at the same time of day, just exercise whenever you get the chance. however its not a good idea to exercise when your only gettin 4 hours of sleep, your body repairs muscle tissue the most when you are asleep and thats very important when exercising. sleep is very important to being healthy along with exercise and diet
References :
How can I work a diet/exercise routine into my inconsistent work schedule?
Over a year ago I started trying to live healthier.I've tried eating better & exercising more along with establishing a better sleeping pattern. My problem is my work schedule. It's extremely inconsistent.I'm salaried so I'm required to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.I'm the manager of a restaurant,so I never have the same schedule.I never have the same 2 days off.My shifts tend to be at least 10 hours. My schedule this week, for example:M(off) T(9am-7pm) W(9am-6pm) Th(off) F(3pm-2am) Sa(3pm-2am) Su(9am-7pm). It makes it VERY difficult to eat meals at the same time every day much less plan them all out/cook them.Trying to find a regular time to exercise is a nightmare. And I'm not on a very good sleep schedule.I'll get 4 hours a night on avg for a week & a half, then get 16 hours in one day because I'm so tired. Is there anybody else out there who has this problem? What are your ideas for developing a diet/exercise/sleep routine despite my work schedule?
