Tips For Finding The Best Abdominal Exercise That Works

With our often sedentary lifestyles, it is no wonder that many of us have just a tad too much fat in the abdominal area. Maybe you have just had a baby, and baby stretched that tummy out good! Perhaps you have recently lost a lot of weight, but find that stubborn belly fat just will not go away.

Do not feel discouraged. Abdominal exercise will melt that fat away with just a half hour of effort on your part each day. You don not need special equipment and all can be accomplished while listening to music or watching TV.

The first recommended abdominal exercise is the old fashioned sit up. You may remember doing this in school in gym class. Sit ups work. If it has been a while, you may want to start with the sissy sit ups. This easier sit up starts with lying on your back on the floor, with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Clasp your hands together, behind your neck with elbows facing out.

Keeping your feet flat on the floor, pull your upper body up, bringing your elbows forward in front of your face and touch your knees with your elbows. Return to the lying down position and repeat. When beginning your program, start with 25 sit ups, increasing the number by 5 every other day. When you can do 50 easily, you are ready for the harder style of sit ups.

The harder type of sit up goes like this. Lie down on the floor on your back, legs extended and heels touching the floor. Your arms should be extended behind you with the backs of your hands touching the floor. Placing your hands together, pull yourself up and extend your hands until they touch your toes.

Yikes, that is hard! Persevere. Shoot for 25 of these sit-ups per session. Increase by 5 every other day, progressing to 50 as you get stronger. By this time, you will be seeing real results. The sit up is the abdominal exercise without equal.

Another good abdominal exercise is the toe touch. Stand with your feet together and arms at your sides. Bend from the waist and touch your toes, repeating 25 times. As you progress, try to touch the palms of your hands to the floor in front of your feet. You can eventually progress to 50 per session.

Yet another abdominal exercise to quickly trim belly fat is this: begin in a standing position with your arms at your sides and back straight. Raise your right arm over your head while sliding your left arm straight down your left leg. Reach with your right arm, extending your right hand over your head as though trying to touch your left shoulder. Use a bouncing motion, trying three times to touch your left shoulder, all the while keeping your back straight. Reverse arms and repeat.

Begin with 15 repetitions and work up to 25. If you do these abdominal exercises faithfully, you will be looking good in a months time.

Get A Home Gym And Workout At Leisure

Lifestyle changes have had an effect on people. They often tend to make time for everything except for maintaining their health and fitness. And the result is the onset of various diseases and discomforts. There are numerous health centers and gyms which promise to help you stay fit, but how much they really achieve this is a billion dollar question. Even if they are useful, finding a convenient time is often difficult. Do away with all these obstacles. Buy a home gym and work out your own fitness at your own convenience.

Home gym and fitness

Home gyms offer a lot of exercises that help us to remain fit. With this, there is no need for you to travel all the way to your gym and then wait for your turn to workout. Exercise when you feel like it. There is no restriction at all. They offer almost everything you could get by going to a gym center. What’s more, your whole family can benefit too.

Home gyms are of three types:

Machine home gyms:

These are constructed of a single steel frame. Different training equipment is attached to different parts of the frame. These come in three types: traditional, power rack and power cage.

Traditional types are the most common and best suited for multi-purpose workouts. They include at least one barbell, two dumbbells, weight plates, a bench and rack and collars to prevent weight plates from falling. Power rack is suitable for people who do heavy exercises. Power cage is almost similar to power rack except a few minor differences.

Free weight home gyms:

These consist of several pieces of equipment that are not attached to each other. These are further divided into three categories; traditional, power rack and power cage.

Traditional types are the most commonly used and suited for all workouts. Power rack and power cage are intended for those who perform heavy exercises.

Plate loaded machine home gyms:

These combine machine and free weight features. These come in three categories; machine without weight stacks, smith machine and combination smith machine

Choose one according to your needs. Like, if you wish to have one for maintaining fitness you can opt for some traditional types. If you are intending to use it for heavy workouts, you can go for power rack or power cages. Cost is an important factor to consider when buying. So first decide your budget and go for the ones that offer what you need in your price range.

Home Gym Exercising Tips

In order to build muscle and reach your fitness goals with your home gym, you can find comprehensive workout programs based on your individual home gym fitness goals and access to strength training equipment in your home gym. These programs can be found online on videos or DVDs. You can also download your home gym workout to your mobile device or MP3 player.

A lot of people think that they need to spend hours in their home gyms every day to lose body fat, but that is not true. Gaining lean muscle by working out in your home gym increases your resting metabolic rate (RMR) much faster than just cardiovascular exercises alone. Strength training combined with metabolic conditioning is the best way to transform your body using your home gym.

Here are some good tips for developing and maintaining a solid workout program in your home gym in the New Year:

Mix up your home gym workout for more muscle. Keep your body guessing as to what you will do in your home gym and you’ll progress faster. Make sure to vary the type of home gym exercise that you do, the length of rest periods, sequence of exercises, number of repetitions,

training loads, distances, etc.

Train in your home gym as if life is a sport. That means exercising in your home gym for real world fitness and making sure that you follow a well-rounded home gym fitness regime. It’s great to have big muscles but if you can’t run a mile something is wrong. A healthy lifestyle requires a balance of mental toughness, agility, stamina, strength-endurance and physical strength.

Be consistent and persistent when working out in your home gym. Following the world’s best training program only one day per week is a lot less effective than doing a moderate program three times a week. Work out in your home gym at least three times per week to maximize your results.
